Galaxy’s Story - A New Brother in Christ

We have one big esports tournament every year... We do not provide a “verbal” gospel presentation at this event, this is because it is in partnership with our public school district.

Last year, in May, we tested a new initiative called “Gamer of Peace”. We sent a short training video, built off of Luke 10, to each spiritual leader who was going to be at this event. There were around 75 volunteers, and a handful watched the Gamer of Peace video.

The goal was for each leader to identify a young person they would invest in, or connect with one of our local staff so they could pour into them over the next season.

The "gamer of peace" I met was “Galaxy” aka Aiden. Aiden joined our online community and is active daily. He started coming to our weekly online Bible studies saying “I’m not a Christian, but I will come and listen so I can play video games with you all”. We had students praying for him by name, and we sent out prayer letters to our volunteers and prayer team. Leaders and students were on a mission to see this kid experience the love of Jesus.

Recently, he expressed he was losing his grandmother. That week we had been studying Samuel 14 where Jonathan’s armor bearer said “I am with you heart and soul.” I told him that just as the armor bearer was with Jonathan, I would be with his heart and soul through his challenging season.

This week, Galaxy said he was interested in going to church. I invited him to our church, and he brought his sister. It was a very special service and this young man committed his life to Jesus Christ! We are talking about baptism on November 24th  I hope to send pictures of that amazing event!

This young man has a fairly rough home life, but now has a beautiful example of what "family" is.

Continue to pray for Aiden and those leading him!
